The Raven is a collaboration between photographers Jason S. and Elena Nuñez. Introduced to each other by a mutual friend, the two quickly realized they shared a passion for portrait photography. A year later, The Raven was born.

As a devoted mom, Elena brings a unique perspective to her portraits. By creating a visual signature that resonates deeply with the families she shoots, Nuñez invites us to see the world as she does, a world in which the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

Her pivot from motherhood to photography has defined a new chapter in her artistic exploration. Her photographs not only document, they also engage, allowing the audience to navigate the subtle nuances that define her distinct visual style.

Jason S. has spent the last 25 years living and working in Los Angeles / New York / Berlin shooting for such brands as Mercedes-Benz, Pepsi-Cola and Hasselblad. By immersing himself in the culture of the three cities, he has incorporated the creative influences of each into his own body of work.

In 2010 Jason co-created and co-directed the Webby Award winning documentary series David Lynch Presents Interview Project, followed by the 2011 Lovie Award winning series David Lynch Presents Interview Project Germany.

 

Known for his intimate documentaries about film director David Lynch, Jason's unique vision and storytelling have resulted in his work screening at many of the world's preeminent film festivals, including the premiere of David Lynch The Art Life at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy in 2017.

In 2023 Jason filmed Mike Tyson , Nora Jones, Tegan and Sara, Ken Burns, Finn Wolfhard, Roxane Gaye, Kaia Gerber, Jonathan Van Ness, Jorge Masvidal, and Nicole Beyer for the live action segments of Mike Judge's latest animation series In The Know.

In 2023, Jason also had his photography exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), in New York.
